PS-200 series heaters are designed for pre-start and constant heating of diesel fuel in Mann-Hummel PreLane and similar filter separators.
This heater works in automatic mode and does not require driver’s participation. When the fuel temperature gets below +5 °С - heating turns on. When the fuel temperature gets above + 5 °С - heating turns off.
Compared to existing rod-shaped heaters of other brands, PS-200 device has a number of significant advantages:
Instead of a plastic case, PS-200 heater is made of aluminum alloy and has a 2.5 times larger area of heating surface, which provides 350 Watts of electrical power.
Sensor that monitors the fuel temperature is installed at the outlet of the filter (not in the heater’s body), which guarantees high accuracy of temperature measurements. As a result, the heating is turned on and off in accordance with the actual temperature of the fuel - (turns on below +5 °С + / turns off above +5 °С). If the sensor is in the same housing with the heater, its readings are distorted because of the thermal influence of the heating elements.
PS-200 has an intelligent electronic control system; its algorithm takes into account the characteristic data of the vehicle operation, such as fuel consumption, engine shutdown, and battery charge level. It automatically adjusts the heater operation according to these changes. For example, the power of heating is regulated automatically, depending on the fuel consumption and its temperature, which eliminates overheating and minimizes power consumption.
INSTALLATION
PS-200 heater is installed in a special socket on the filter-separator housing. Temperature sensor is installed at the outlet of the filter, as shown on the picture.
Connection to the onboard network must be made according to the scheme (see the manual).
